Hairy Beardtongue

Scientific Name: Penstemon hirsutus
Height: 1-3 feet
Habitat: Full sun to partial sun, average to dry conditions on sandy, loam or clay soils
Spacing: 1 - 1.5 feet

Hairy Beardtongue is an open-shaped, trumpet-like flower that has a fuzzy stamen. The blossoms are lavender with white lips and they bloom in June and July. They provide nectar for hummingbirds and butterflies. This Native Wildflower will grow in fields and rocky woods on sandy or rocky soil. It prefers full sun or filtered sun and should be watered moderately when dry.
