Monkey Flower

Scientific Name: Mimulus ringens
Height: 1-3 feet
Habitat: Wet areas along streams, bogs, swales and ponds
Spacing: 12-18 inches

The Monkey Flower is a native species that grows well in water-gardens or wet areas. It likes wet to moist conditions and will not tolerate drying out. The flower is showy and varies from purple to pink to blue. It can also be white. Monkey Flower will bloom all summer long. Because it is a tall wildflower, it should be planted behind shorter plants in the wetlands garden.
