Beach Pea

Scientific Name: Lathrus japonicus
Height: 1-2 feet
Growth Rate: medium
Habitat: sandy shores

Beach pea is a sprawling perennial vine that grows in beach and dune environments. Beach pea has showy pink or purple flowers that bloom in June and August. Beach pea pods resemble those of garden peas--but the beach pea is NOT edible.
