The Norway Spruce originated in Europe but generally grows more rapidly than our native spruces. These trees have a pleasing, conical or spire-like form, with pendulous branches, which distinguish it from other spruces. Norway Spruce transplants easily. It is good for windbreaks and for wildlife cover in winter. As with many conifers, it is sensitive to salt and heat and drought.
