Bearberry

Scientific Name: Arctostaphylos uva-ursi
Height: Forms a mat 4-6 inches tall and 2-5 feet wide
Habitat: Excellent in infertile, sandy acidic soils. It grows well in full sun or partial shade and tolerates strong winds. It is also salt tolerant.
Spacing: 12-16 inches

Bearberry is a Native Species evergreen groundcover. The leaves are glossy dark green above and lighter green beneath. This is a beautiful, rugged trailing groundcover. It produces a red berry-like fruit utilized by wildlife.
