Purple Coneflower

Scientific Name: Echinacea purpurea
Height: 3-4 feet
Habitat: Full sun or partial shade, dry to moist soils
Spacing: 12-16 inches

Purple Coneflower has large pinkish purple flowers with spiny orange centers that appear in July and August. It is a hardy, drought resistant plant whose flowers are excellent for cutting. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and songbirds.
