Bunchberry

Scientific Name: Cornus canadensis
Height: 4-6 inches

Growth Rate: Slow growing.
Habitat: Sand, loam. Partial shade. Cool, moist, well drained soils. Requires summer shade.
Spacing: 6-10 inches

Bunchberry is a highly ornamental, deciduous groundcover. Its leaves are whorled and its small yellow flowers are surrounded by 4 to 6 showy white bracts. It is a beautiful plant that should be used in highly visible areas. Bunchberry is a native species and does well planted beneath deciduous trees or in full shade under evergreen trees and shrubs. Its decorative red berries can be made into jellies.
