Butterfly Weed

Scientific Name: Asclepias tuberosa
Height: 1-2'
Habitat: Sandy soil, full sun, medium to dry areas.
Spacing: 12-16 inches

Butterfly Weed is a Michigan native species that has brilliant orange flowers that bloom in June and July. It is often found along roads and in disturbed areas. It is a great plant for attracting butterflies, including Monarchs.
