Habitat: Dry, well drained soils, full sun
Spacing: 12-18 inches
Rough Blazing Star is a native species of mesic to dry prairies that requires full sun and well-drained soils. It produces purple flowers on stalks that bloom in August and September. The blooms attract butterflies and the seeds attract songbirds.
