Enjoying nature in winter can be fun and good exercise too. Build a snowman for the birds. (See the article below on Our Snowman is for the Birds. Make an igloo or snow fort out of snow balls or chunks of snow. Make snow angels. Then put a few drops of food coloring in a spray bottle with water and color your snow angels. Put peanut butter on a pine cone and then roll it in bird seed. Hang it with string in a tree for a natural bird feeder. If you put it in a tree or shrub near a window, you can watch to see which birds come to eat. Go on a hike through a field or woods and look for animal tracks in the snow. Try to identify what animal made the tracks. Where do you think he was going? What do you think he was doing? Go sledding with your brother or sister. Go skiing or snowshoeing with your mom. Go snowboarding with a friend. Go ice fishing with your dad or uncle. Winter can be a lot of fun. Just make sure you wear warm clothes, boots, hats and mittens. Have a wonderful time!
