Native Plant Sale

iris.JPG2008 Dates-Nature is Calling...Plant It!

When: Saturday, May 17: 8 am-4 pm and Sunday, May 18: 10 am-4 pm

Where: Grand Traverse County Civic Center's Howe Arena

In May, we hold a Native Plants Sale, which includes vines, ferns, groundcovers, grasses, and wildflowers. We also offer many rescued plant species. Species will vary due to availablity. The Native Plants Sale species are offered on a first-come, first-served basis on the sale dates. There are no orders taken for this sale. Species information and prices of many of the plants available at our May Sale are listed below. We will be offering over 30 species of native plants this year. We focus our offerings on Native Species.

Thank you for your support, through our annual seedling and native plant sales! Please take a look around our website to learn more about the work that these sales support.

Overall sponsorship of the Seedling Sale and Native Plants Sale has been Traverse City Light & Power's gift to the District and our customers for the past ten years. They also contribute over 10,000 white pine seedlings annually to area school children. They have also contributed thousands of other seedlings over the years that have been planted at the Natural Education Reserve, along the TART Trail, and on sensitive sites along the Boardman River. For more information on the school seedling program, e-mail us

Items marked as Available at Sale we plan to have at our May Sale (May 17 & May 18, 2008) at Grand Traverse County Civic Center's Howe Arena.
