The Grand Traverse Conservation District (GTCD) has been asking you to shoot nature this year…with your camera. We have been holding digital photography contests to determine the future banners that will be displayed behind the Boardman River Nature Center’s welcome desk. As it is the BOARDMAN RIVER Nature Center, the photos must be of the BOARDMAN RIVER!!

Winners get their digital photo blown up really big and displayed behind the welcome desk of the Boardman River Nature Center for a season. We have completed the contest for next winter's banner. Jocelyn Trepte's photo entitled "Launch Site at the Forks" received the most votes from the community and is the winner of the 2009 Winter Digital Photo Contest! Never without her point-and-shoot camera, Jocelyn loves paddling all of our region's rivers and feels we are very lucky to have the Boardman on our doorstep. Check out the winning photo below!
