Calling all Native Plant Rescue Volunteers!

trilliumscene.jpg
Greetings, Native Plant Rescue Volunteers!  We are hoping you have had a pleasant winter and that you are now ready to dust off your gardening gloves and trowels to rescue those native plants before they are uprooted in the midst of development projects.   Our group of volunteers works with willing landowners to rescue plants growing on land slated for development.  Privacy of landowners is protected at all times.

GTCD Staff and your new coordinator Jane Shank are all very excited to get the Native Plant Rescue program underway once again.  The 2008 Season will begin with a fun-filled and informational Kick-Off Meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Traverse Area District Library’s Meeting Room A.   This session will give you a chance to meet and re-connect with your fellow Native Plant Rescue Volunteer Team members, welcome new volunteers, plan for the season, and learn about native plants during a presentation by botanist Dick Fidler.

Please pass this along to your fellow gardeners and nature enthusiasts – the more the merrier!
Please RSVP at the GTCD Office - 231.941.0960 if you are interested in attending and becoming a new Native Plant Rescue Volunteer!

Hope to see you there!
