The Children’s House brought eleven children out to the Grand Traverse Natural Education Reserve this morning for a hike about mammals. Although we didn’t get to see any live mammals, the kids got to look at posters of local mammals and saw other exciting wildlife on their hike. They got to see a Garter Snake, Painted Turtles, woodpecker holes, Damselflies, and other insects. The children were very attentive and excited to learn about our local environment. This week our traveling trunk of Michigan Mammals is visiting the Children’s House where the children will get to see preserved mammal skins and skulls. Thanks for being a great group and have fun learning all about mammals this week!
