Today we had another sixty kindergarteners from Grand Traverse Academy join us for a hike at the Oleson Pavilion. It was so warm that we did not need our jackets! We started our morning off by rotating through tables of preserved mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects and learning about their different physical adaptations.
Miss Cindy, Miss Rebecca, Mr. Steve, and Miss Tesha then divided up the large group and led the children, parents, and teachers on hikes along the Sabin Pond and Fox Den Trails. Along the way we saw the Sabin Dam, Canadian Geese, swans, ducks, tent caterpillars, pine trees, cedar trees, native plants and wildflowers, snakes, turtles, and butterflies. Thanks Grand Traverse Academy for being a great group!
