Jennifer Jay, Associate Director

Jennifer Jay moved to Traverse City in 1986 and loves it here! She worked for 10 years in independent education and is now the Project Coordinator for the Boardman River “Fate of the Dams” Project.

Jennifer has a passion for place-based education and is excited about the possibilities for important learning opportunities that will be provided by the Boardman River Nature Center. She loves spending time on the Boardman River and her interests include gardening, reading, and time with her family. Her daughter Zara is a Conservation Biology major at College of Santa Fe and has just spent a rewarding summer working with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. Jennifer shares with her daughter a love for the outdoors and a desire to protect and preserve our natural resources. The rest of her time is spent with Evan, a talented writer working on his third novel, restoring their 100 year old home in Traverse City, tending to a large organic garden, and enjoying their pets Zeus and Lucille.
