Nature is calling... (Dig it!)
Position Description: Dust off your gardening gloves and trowels because this volunteer position is mostly hands on. True to their name, Native Plant Rescuers rescue native plants before they are uprooted by land development projects. The Native Plant Rescue Program works with willing landowners to rescue plants growing on land slated for development. Native Plant Rescuers travel to these properties to identify, properly remove, and transport beautiful native plants. These rescued native plants are then sold at our Annual Native Plant Sale. If you do not want to get down and dirty, we have a need for volunteers with the knowledge of native plants to assist others in identifying plants as well. Digs take place in the morning, mostly during the cooler weeks of spring and fall. We are always looking for more sites to dig on, so please call us if you know of any!
