Nature Scavenger Hunt Captivates TC Cooperative Preschoolers

Two wonderful groups of 4 and 5 year-old students from TC Cooperative Preschool came for a nature scavenger hunt on the Sabin Pond Trail. It was a beautiful day for a hike and the kids enjoyed collecting things like pine cones, acorns, something a bird might use to make a nest, a brown seed, a fossil rock, a chewed leaf, a dead needle-like leaf, and much more. We followed the trail from a scenic overlook above Sabin Pond, down steps to a suspended overlook on the pond, along a boardwalk over a wetlands, up through a mixed hardwood forest and looped back through mixed pines and a meadow, finally returning to the Oleson Pavilion. Everyone enjoyed the hike and all of the wonders of nature that we discovered along the way. We look forward to seeing everyone return again to the Boardman River Nature Center!
