The leading greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide, a pollutant emitted from the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas. In the United States, the equivalent of over 53,000 pounds of carbon dioxide are emitted per person every year.*
You can help reduce your carbon “footprint” by planting trees. A hardwood tree (2 ft circumference) can store approximately 725 lbs. of C02 in the form of Carbon. You can also reduce your “footprint” by making simple changes around the house: use compact florescent light bulbs, adjust the thermostat in your house, eat locally grown food, and carpool when possible.
