H - American Mountain Ash

Scientific Name: Sorbus americana
Height: 20-30 feet
Width: 15-25 feet
Growth Rate: Slow
Habitat: It prefers full sun to partial shade and a fertile, moist to wet soil.

The American Mountain Ash is easily transplanted, and is one of the most beautiful flowering trees of the northern forest. The fruit is bright orange-red and forms clusters. Its primary use is in landscaping and for wildlife, especially birds, who love the berries. It is a native species that is not susceptible to the Emerald Ash Borer.
