H- White Birch

Scientific Name: Betula papyrifera
Height: 50-60 feet
Growth Rate: Fast growing, short lived
Habitat: Moist to dry soils and full sun
Spacing: 12' x 12'

White Birch, also called Paper Birch, is a Native Species. It grows in a variety of soil types and water conditions, but is shade intolerant. Because of the beauty of it's bark, it is often planted as an ornamental tree, but is highly susceptible to the bronze birch borer and soil compaction.
