Stuff in the Sky Hike - June 27

Joe Charlevoix was our hike guide today and what a great day it was to be looking at clouds! The kids were so excited to meet the TV 7 & 4 meteorologist and ask him all about weather. We had eighteen kids and thirteen adults join us today to learn about clouds, why the wind blows, what makes thunder and lightning, the types of weather we have in northern Michigan, and what makes precipitation. The kids started off the day making cloud finders to help them identify the different types of clouds on the hike and at home. Joe then lead a walk around the Nature Reserve allowing the kids to try their new cloud finders and release milkweed seeds into the wind. The kids had a great time exploring and observing the weather today. Thanks Joe for sharing your time and expertise with Michigan’s future meteorologists!
