Tom Adams Retires!

Tom Adams retired from the USDA – NRCS after 34 years of Federal service. This included 2 years of military time and 32 years with the Soil Conservation Service / Natural Resources Conservation Service. The last 25 years were spent serving landowners in Grand Traverse County, by writing and implementing conservation plans that provided those landowners with technical and financial assistance that improved their farming operation while protecting the natural resources of the region.

Tom has assisted the Grand Traverse Conservation District at its annual Seedling Sale for many years. His expertise in tree planting and species information is invaluable. He’s also helped us by guiding hikes and developing management plans for public parkland that the District manages. Tom has been a great asset to the Grand Traverse Conservation District. But he has graciously agreed to volunteer at various District events, so we won’t be saying goodbye. Happy Retirement, Tom!
