It was a wonderful afternoon for our hike with the Traverse City Central MOCI students! We meet under the Oleson Pavilion and started off the adventure looking at preserved native mammals and birds. Then we grabbed our nets and were off to look for bugs and insects! We walked down across the Sabin dam and went searching for bugs in the meadow. The students almost caught some butterflies in their nets!
After our fun in the meadow we hiked back up to the pavilion and started walking the Sabin Pond Trail. We stopped along the way to observe and touch some tent caterpillars, watch a swan eating, and see some turtles sunning themselves on a log in Sabin Pond. Everyone had a great time!
