Tuna Can Turtle

Materials:
Empty tuna can
Construction paper
Paint (optional)
Glue
Buttons/felt
Scissors
Jiggly eyes (optional)
Markers/colored pencils (optional)

Directions:
1. Place can upside down on paper and trace around it, drawing on hands, legs, head, and tail (you can make yours a common turtle, sea turtle, or tortoise by drawing the feet differently). Remove the can and cut along your outline. This will be the turtle's "body."

2. Cut a strip of paper about 2" x 12" for a standard can and glue it around the side of the can.

3. Trace and cut another outline of the can, minus the appendages this time, and glue it on the top of the can (the bottom will be up for this craft). This completes its "shell."

4. Glue buttons or cut and glue felt on top (and sides if you wish) of turtle "shell." Also decorate with markers if you wish.

5. Glue "shell" to "body."

5. Glue or draw on eyes and draw nose, and your turtle is complete!
