Native Seedling and Plant Sale

Seedling & Native Plants Sales 2008 Our Seedling Sale will be held Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19
Ordering Deadline is Monday, April 7th.

Our Native Plant Sale will be held Saturday, May 17 8am-4pm and Sunday, May 18 10am-4pm

Each spring, the Grand Traverse Conservation District holds a Seedling Sale in April to help landowners control erosion, establish windbreaks, privacy screens, or living snow fences, improve wildlife habitat, reforest idle lands, establish riparian buffers, or simply beautify their land. In May, we hold a Native Plants Sale, which includes vines, ferns, groundcovers, grasses, and wildflowers. We also offer many rescued plant species. Species will vary due to availablity. The Native Plants Sale species are offered on a first-come, first-served basis on the sale dates. There are no orders taken for this sale. Species information and prices of many of the plants available at our May Sale are listed below on the right. We will be offering over 30 species of native plants this year. We focus our offerings on Native Species for both sales.

Thank you for your support, through our annual seedling and native plant sales! Please take a look around our website to learn more about the work that these sales support.

Overall sponsorship of the Seedling Sale and Native Plants Sale has been Traverse City Light & Power's gift to the District and our customers for the past ten years. They also contribute over 10,000 white pine seedlings annually to area school children. They have also contributed thousands of other seedlings over the years that have been planted at the Natural Education Reserve, along the TART Trail, and on sensitive sites along the Boardman River. For more information on the school seedling program,
