Daniel Schillinger
I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Professional Forestry in the spring of 2003. During my education I worked with a forest ecology professor conducting research both on campus, and in the field. After graduation I took on heading up a USDA funded research project measuring and quantifying hardwood dispersal into red pine stands in the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Then I married my high school sweetheart and moved to Traverse City. Just before I came to the Conservation District I worked with a construction company who specializes in building homes that are extremely energy efficient and healthy for the inhabitants. I’m looking forward to working with this great team and really making a difference in Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties. I am an avid fisherman and backpacker. I’m also into gardening, running, and woodworking.
